Our Review

With just nine rooms, the Bank Hotel is one of the smallest properties in Edinburgh city centre. Each guestroom is individually themed on a famous Scot, making this a great escape from the chain hotels where all rooms are similar. The location is a double edged sword: it’s right on the Royal Mile, which is the perfect city centre location, but it can be busy at night and may not suit light sleepers. Given the limited accommodation, it’s quite difficult to get availability at the Bank Hotel, so you do need to book early.

The Bank hotel has a total of nine rooms each themed on a famous scotsman. So you could be sleeping in the James Watt room, Charles Rennie Mackintosh room, Robert Burns or Robert Louis Stevenson. Its a great idea for the guest that wants to escape from a boring chain hotel.

     clean rooms...              towels in the bathroom were small...             Plumbing in poor condition, plus bathroom not clean....             Poor light in room ...             rooms are individually designed around famous Scots ...             rooms above a busy bar ...             the room is on the small size-...             A lot of stairs to the top floor...             The room was clean and tidy...             we were on the top floor and there are no lifts ...             my room was on the second floor which was four flights up...
